For the Video Festival LOOP07 LiminalB will present Liminal Transit , an itinerant exhibition about different kinds of transit experiences.
Liminal Transit is a video exhibition arising from the collaboration between Liminalb and Kforumvienna, two associations set in Barcelona
and Vienna. An interchange project, which displays a “crossed" selection of videos artists linked with the two organizations. A shipment,
a material exchange, that is aimed to spread information and to circulate the work of young artists, continuously searching for the collabo
ration and the debate with different cultural contexts. This is the intention that implies Liminal Transit and that charaterizes the activities
of both organizations. Vienna will host this exhibition in February 2007 and Barcelona in May of the same year.
Liminal Transit focuses on the ideas of journey, a-topía and the particular space-time relation following-on the experience of travelling.
Since this experience brings with itself the ephemeral game between territorial forms, and cultural and semantic limits, its space
is a place made definitely by places, corresponding to a diachronic time. With their trip, the works trace a line in the middle of Western
Europe - from Spain to Austria, to show the personal re - interpretations of well-known places and of the same idea of trip operated by
multiple artists.
The selected artists play with this interpretation of the journey shaping images of the territories to cross, to experiment, to know.
The subject of the exhibition itself affected the choice of video works, which allows to express stratifying temporal - space dimensions
and to move towards an hybrid territory, which involves different stylistic genres. Documentary, Fiction, Computer Graphics, Experimen-
tal Video.
Rhythm, duration, pauses, delays, transformations and changes are features of the journey as well as prerogatives of the video artists set-
ting, who transform the real background into mental geographies. Thus, the video can be re-interpreted as a crossing through a
"non-place", where neither the artist himself completely knows the borders, the potential, or the possible interpretations.

En ocasión del Festival LOOP’07, Ego Gallery acoge Liminal Transit, una exposición itinerante acerca de distintas experiencias de tránsito.
El proyecto nace de la colaboración entre Liminalb y Kforumvienna, dos asociaciones con sede en Barcelona y Viena, y exhibe una sele-
cción “cruzada” de videos de artistas vinculados a las dos organizaciones. Una expedición, un intercambio de material dirigido a compartir
información y a hacer circular el trabajo de jóvenes artistas, a la búsqueda continua de colaboración y dialogo con diversos contextos
culturales. Éste es el objetivo que busca Liminal Transit y que define las actividades de ambas entidades. Viena hospedó esta exposición
en febrero de 2007, y Barcelona lo hace en mayo del mismo año.
Liminal Transit se centra en las ideas de movimiento y de a-topía, y en la singular relación espacio-temporal que derivan de la vivencia
del viajar. Puesto que ésta trae en sí misma el juego efímero entre las formas territoriales y los límites culturales y semánticos, su espacio
es un lugar compuesto por lugares al cual corresponde un tiempo diacrónico. Con su trayecto, los trabajos trazan una línea en el centro
de Europa Occidental, de España a Austria, para mostrar las re - interpretaciones personales de lugares conocidos, y de la misma idea del
viaje operada por múltiples autores.
Los artistas seleccionados juegan con esta interpretación del viaje, que da forma a imágenes de territorios por atravesar, por experimentar,
por conocer.
El mismo tema de la exposición condicionó la selección de trabajos realizados en video, un medio que permite expresar dimensiones
espacio – temporales estratificadas, y moverse hacia un territorio híbrido que involucra diversos géneros estilísticos: Documental,
Ficción, Computer - Gráfica, Vídeo Experimental.
El ritmo, los tiempos, las duraciones, las pausas, las transformaciones y los cambios son características del viaje, así como prerrogati-
vas de la creatividad en video que transforma territorios reales en geografías mentales. De esta manera, “el vídeo” puede reinterpretarse
como camino a través de un “no-lugar”, del cual tampoco el artista conoce completamente las fronteras, el potencial, o las posibles interpre-
taciones.
